You won’t find us serving any Tea here, because as we’ve seen these last few days, it can burn you… and your 401K. If you want to read the Tea leaves to get a perspective from new-found converts to fiscal discipline and the champions of reducing debt, you’ve come to the wrong page.

If you’re looking to read about public officials with a proven record of balancing budgets and keeping takes down, however, then stick around. If you want to see firsthand how modest, targeted investments by a government can spur economic development and growth, then put the laptop down and take a walk down Main Street in Peekskill. Or pick up a copy of the New York Times. If you want to know how to revitalize a City without massive tax hikes, then see the chapter in Peekskill’s history labeled, The Foster Years.

Over the next several weeks, we expect to see an attempt to rewrite some of this history from those who wrote the chapters on Peekskill’s decline and the epilogue to the City’s identity as a destination. Feel free to check them out, we’re fans of fiction too.

Enough politics though… get out there this weekend and enjoy Festa Italiana, which came on the heels of Peekskill Celebration, which was preceded by the Jazz & Blues Festival, which followed Cinco de Mayo. Lots going on in Peekskill nowadays. It’s been a good four years in Peekskill.
